Jackfruit is the largest tree-born fruit in the world, reaching up about 2 feet long and weighing up to 40 pounds. It is ellipsoidal and composed of multiple bulbs of seed-containing flesh around a stringy core, all of which is enclosed by a bumpy rind. The taste is quite distinctive. Some say it's sweet, and some say a jackfruit has a flavor similar to pulled pork, especially when cooked.
