Green avocadoes have bright green skin that will remain green even as the fruit ripens, though it may be spotted with brown spots. Green avocados come in a couple different shapes from pear-shaped to round. Green-skinned avocadoes tend to be larger with smoother skin than the standard Hass avocado. The pale green to yellow flesh is typically steadier with less fat and oil content, and the flavor can vary from mild to watery like the Zutano avocado, all the way to rich, sweet, and nutty like the Gwen avocado.
